If you don’t know where and how to find deals, specials, coupons, cheapest ways to get around Orlando, cheap flights and deals on hotels; then you’ll be spending hundreds or thousands more then you should.

I did some research online to help save time, money and the headaches from my first trip. While researching I came across this book online about Disney Vacations. I thought, what could be in this book that I can’t find online? and why would I pay for an online book?. I put it off and kept on searching…one hour passes, no problem. Five days pass and I was getting frustrated. The next day I went back to the site and bought the book hoping I didn’t waste my money.

Walt Disney World executives encourage Florida residents to spend their free time visiting Disney parks by offering discount tickets to those who have proof of a Florida address. A wide variety of ticket and pass options allow Floridians to customize their tickets based on how much time they spend at Disney and when they travel. Buy Florida resident tickets individually if you visit the Orlando attractions infrequently, or consider an annual pass if you are a regular Disney guest.

Steps

  1. Determine whether you prefer an annual pass or daily tickets, based on the frequency of which you plan to visit Disney parks.
  • Annual passes can be paid in full upon purchase or you can pay monthly throughout the year. Rates range from $156.36 to $531.44 per adult per year, or from $5.50 to $37.01 per adult per month. In order to pay monthly you must make a down payment equivalent to the non-discounted price of a 1-day, 1-park ticket.
  • Annual pass options include the Premium Annual Pass (unlimited admission to the 4 main Disney World parks, parking, special discounts, special event access, unlimited access to Disney Quest indoor theme park and both Disney World water parks), the Annual Pass (everything included with the Premium pass except indoor theme park and water park admissions), the Seasonal Pass (admission to the 4 main Disney World parks subject to block-out dates during summer and holiday breaks), the Weekday Select Pass (admission to the 4 main Disney World parks subject to block-out dates during summer, holiday breaks and weekends), and the Epcot After 4 Pass (admission to Epcot only, any day after 4 p.m.).
  • Annual passes are also available exclusively for Disney water parks or the Disney Quest indoor theme park.
  • The adult rate for daily Florida resident tickets is $73.80. Daily tickets include admission to 1 of the 4 main Disney World parks, although you may add the option to hop between parks at an additional cost.
  • Purchase park admissions online, over the phone or in person at Disney ticket windows.
    • Daily tickets must be purchased online.
    • Florida resident rates are not available when purchasing at park ticket windows.
    • Purchase annual passes online, by calling (407)560-7277 or by visiting a Disney ticket window.
  • Show proof of Florida residency when picking up your tickets or pass.
    • Proof of residency can be a Florida driver’s license, state-issued ID, or military ID. It can also be any of the following items combined with photo ID: mortgage statement, Florida vehicle registration or title, or bills/mail from your homeowner’s insurance company, auto insurance company, utility company, financial institution or government agency.
    • Tickets and passes can be picked up the theme park Will Call windows if you have purchased online or over the phone. Bring your printed confirmation or confirmation number to expedite the process.

Disney World, just south of Orlando in Florida, is the largest entertainment resort in the world and attracts the highest number of visitors each year with its 4 theme parks, 2 water parks, 23 on-site hotels, a campground, and other recreational venues such as fitness centers and health spas. Because it features such a large variety of entertainment and recreational options, Disney World offers a tiered ticket that allows you to book a basic ticket for 1 or more days and add a number of options if you so wish. Buying Disney World tickets involves making your choice of the available options and purchasing the tickets online at the Disney World website or at another reputable ticket vendor such as Orlando Fun Tickets. You can also purchase tickets at the gate when you visit Disney World. Read the following steps to find out how to buy Disney World Tickets.

Steps

  • Write down how many tickets you need and what the ages are of each ticket holder.
  • Disney tickets are available in child tickets, for children aged 3 to 9, and adult tickets, for ages 10 and over.
  • Go to the Walt Disney World website to buy tickets.
  • Let your cursor hover over “Tickets and Packages.” A drop-down menu will appear. Click on “Buy Park Tickets.” You’ll be redirected to a page where you can customize your Magic Your Way tickets, which are the base tickets with options that give you access to Disney World.
  • Select the number of children’s and adult’s tickets you want.
  • Customize your Magic Your Way tickets by adding options if you want to.
  • Magic Your Way is a base ticket that includes 1 theme park per day.
  • The Park Hopper Option allows you to enjoy multiple parks on the same day. These include, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
  • Water Park Fun & More allows you to select from 2 water parks (Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park), ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, Disney Quest Indoor Interactive Theme Park , or Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course.
  • The No Expiration option enables you to use your days whenever you like after activation. All other tickets must be used within 14 days of activation.
  • Consider purchasing an annual pass if you’ll be visiting the theme park more than 11 days in a year.
  • Choose the number of days you want your ticket to be. It’s important to note that the more days you add, the cheaper the price per day is. You can purchase tickets that allow entry for 1 to 10 days.
  • Click on “Checkout.” You’ll be asked to create an account with your personal details and your email address before you can pay online with your credit card.
  • Make your payment. Enter your billing data and choose a shipping option for the tickets.

Tips

  • You can also purchase Disney World Tickets at other websites such as Orlando Fun tickets and Undercover Tourists, which sometimes might get you an additional discount. In addition, if you’re booking an entire vacation with a flight and hotel through a travel agent, they can book the tickets for you.
  • If you or your spouse are an active or a retired member of the U.S. military, National Guard, Coast Guard, or Reservists, or you’re a Permanently Disabled Veteran, you’re eligible to take part in the Armed Forces Salute. This means you can get steep discounts on Disney World tickets through September 2012. You or your spouse must buy the tickets in person at your local Base Ticket office, at the Disney Park Ticket Windows, or at Shades of Green, which is the military hotel on Disney World property. You’ll need to show a military ID in order to get the discount.
  • Make a photocopy of the back side of your tickets when you receive them if you buy them in advance. This will be your only way to replace them if you lose them.

Warnings

  • Avoid buying used Disney tickets. They are non-transferable, so even if there are days left on the original ticket, they can only be used by the original purchaser.
  • Beware of fraudulent sites. Disney does not like its authorized brokers use the name Disney in the URL. Never buy from a site that has Disney in the URL–it is not a legitimate broker and you’ll likely find out at the ticket gate that your tickets are no good.

How To Avoid Disney World Scalpers & Scams

In Orlando (or see ads on online)  some people are trying to sell their unused days on a multi-day pass or Florida Resident Disney Tickets. Unfortunately, if you read the small print on the back of a Disney ticket, you will see that they aren’t transferable and shouldn’t legally be sold.

While you may be able to get away with a used multi-day pass or Florida Resident Disney Tickets, using one  is risky (don’t bet on it, as Disney now uses fingerprint recognition ID), the nice guy in your hotel lobby or parking lot may says this pass has a couple days left on it, be he won’t be there when you put it in the turnstile only to find out that all days have been used and the pass has actually expired.  Also the multi-day pass or Florida Resident Disney Tickets could be stolen or even counterfeit and, since you were engaging in an unlawful transaction, don’t expect any help or advice from Disney or the Orlando authorities. Scams do happen: know your who your buying from, preferably an authorized reseller.

You might have seen advertising for ticket sellers offering a huge discount, or even free, Disney tickets. Most of these deals usually involve spending hours listening to a timeshare speaker. They hard sell and pressure you before you can get any free tickets from them.  If you can to spend the time, and hassle it may be for you. but if a deal looks too good to be true, it probably is. I recommend staying away from anyone selling used multi-day passes or Florida Resident Disney Tickets.
